A compact, formal plaza is situated at the base of the Beacon of Hope.  The plaza serves as an optional exit from the museum, as well as a dedicated entry to the public Sky Room, located on the top three floors of the tower.  In providing dedicated access to this public feature, congestion and security risks in the museum are reduced; public convenience is increased.  The Sky Room is arranged to have a full restaurant and bar, with exterior seating easily provided on its expansive, circular rooftop.

Sloped glazing at the lower level and entry pavilion increases visibility of the tower and its contemplative fountain from within.  Inside the museum, this feature creates a dramatically lit and uplifting destination for the underground exhibit space.  During times of peak attendance, the circular space below the plaza provides a contemplative space for the inspiration of visitors while elevators become available.
